Tonight we head out on our next adventure!
I don't want to get all mushy, but I would like to say thank you to everyone who has supported me in preparing for, and going on, this trip. People kept mentioning how proud they were of me and how great it was that we were going to do this, but it wasn't until a couple of days ago that I truly realized the significance of what I am doing.
Then I freaked out. Fortunately I am now freaking out less. In a few hours we will haul our backpacks and two 50lb suitcases full of medical supplies to the airport. We are making a stopover of a few days in Chicago to visit my family and break up the trip.
On Saturday we will cross the Atlantic and head south. After that, I'm really not sure what to expect. I keep telling people that I'm sure I'm going to get my butt kicked and my mind blown.
Again, thank you to everyone who has wished me luck, donated money, donated supplies, donated time, told me they were proud of me, and even just cared or asked about what I am doing.
I will have access to the internet, so I will check in occasionally. Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are probably more realistic than regular blogging, but I will try and check in here too.
Adventure awaits!!
